And are you ready to respond? In 2024, Italy recorded 357 cyberattacks, according to the Clusit Report 2024. And the trend shows no signs of slowing down: in just the first months of 2025, there have already been 39 ransomware attacks and over 7 terabytes of data exfiltrated (Swascan, 2025).
The manufacturing sector remains a prime target, but the healthcare industry is seeing a significant rise in attacks, as highlighted by reports from ENISA (European Union Agency for Cybersecurity) and the IBM X-Force Threat Intelligence Index.
The wrong question is: are we protected from a ransomware attack?
The right one is: are we ready to respond to a ransomware attack when it happens?
In March 2025, we supported a long-standing client — a major Italian multinational — during a live ransomware attack. Part of the attack was successfully mitigated, but what truly made the difference was preparation.
⏱ Within 10 minutes, the crisis team was operational
📣 Within 1 hour, all stakeholders had been informed
The result?
Crisis contained. Business continuity maintained.
Reputation strengthened, not damaged.
Key learnings:
✅ A cyberattack is not just an IT issue
✅ Top management must be trained and involved
✅ Preparation is the real competitive edge
The messages of praise from global clients and partners reminded us of a simple truth:
